Uses:

  • Sloping, flat, vertical and curved surfaces
  • Reinforced concrete
  • Prefabricated concrete
  • Masonry cement
  • Metal, timber decks & terraces

Torch-on waterproofing offers several benefits for waterproofing applications, particularly for flat or low-slope roofs.

Some of these benefits include:

Durability: Torch-on membranes are typically made of modified bitumen, which is highly durable and resistant to weathering, UV rays, and punctures. This durability ensures long-term protection for the underlying structure.

Waterproofing: Torch-on membranes create a seamless, waterproof barrier when properly installed. This helps prevent water infiltration, protecting the building from leaks and water damage.

Flexibility: Modified bitumen torch-on membranes are flexible, allowing them to accommodate building movement and temperature fluctuations without cracking or splitting. This flexibility helps maintain the integrity of the waterproofing system over time.

Ease of Installation: Torch-on membranes are relatively easy to install compared to some other waterproofing methods. They can be quickly applied using a torch to melt the underside of the membrane, creating a strong bond to the substrate.

Versatility: Torch-on waterproofing can be used on various substrates, including concrete, wood, and metal. It is suitable for both new construction and roof repair projects.

Low Maintenance: Once installed, torch-on waterproofing systems require minimal maintenance. Periodic inspections and repairs may be necessary to ensure the continued effectiveness of the waterproofing barrier, but overall maintenance requirements are relatively low.

Cost-Effectiveness: While the initial cost of installing a torch-on waterproofing system may be higher than some other methods, its durability and long lifespan can result in cost savings over time. The reduced need for frequent repairs and replacements can make torch-on waterproofing a cost-effective choice in the long run.

Overall, torch-on waterproofing offers a reliable and durable solution for protecting flat or low-slope roofs and other waterproofing applications, making it a popular choice for many building projects.

Personal protective equipment Required

Respiratory protection : In case of inadequate ventilation wear respiratory protection.
Respirator selection must be based on known or anticipated
exposure levels, the hazards of the product and the safe
working limits of the selected respirator.
organic vapor filter (Type A)
Hand protection : Chemical-resistant, impervious gloves complying with an
approved standard should be worn at all times when handling
chemical products if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary.
Follow AS/NZS 1337.1
Recommended: Butyl rubber/nitrile rubber gloves.
Contaminated gloves should be removed.
Eye protection : Safety glasses
Skin and body protection : Protective clothing (e.g. safety shoes, long-sleeved working
clothing, long trousers)
Follow AS 2210:3
Protective clothing needs to be made of cotton.
